Esperanza Escape

You can't go wrong with this three bedroom / two bath home from Rent On Padre. It is an old school beach house, but nothing inside is old. This beautiful house is where you want to spend your vacation.

Check out the gorgeous layout. The Master bedroom is a king size bed. The Second bedroom has a queen. The last bedroom has both a full size bed and a bunk bed. This bunk has a full on the bottom and a twin on top. Both sofas in living area fold down to sleep 2 additional people. This house sleeps a total of 11 people.

This house is on stilts. Under the house you will find a wonderful picnic area. even in the heat of summer, it still feels cool under here. There is an enclosed back yard too. You also get a fabulous back porch and front porch too.

Linens and bath towels are provided. The Kitchen is fully equipped. It has everything you need for your home away from home.

  We enjoyed our beach stay at Esperanza Escape. You are close to most things so it is easy to walk just about anywhere. The sun does rise on the bedroom side so it is very bright early in the morning. I recommend bringing something to cover the window if you have littles that need to nap during the day. Lastly, Rent on Padre was great to work with.

  The Esperanza Escape is a charming property that goes exactly with the South Padre Island (SPI) atmosphere. The house is built on stilts as many SPI homes are due to the hurricane risk. This creates some undulating flooring (as noted in other reviews), which I thought was pretty fun. The house was well equipped and clean, and served our needs and then some. I would definitely stay here again.

  My family and I spent a week here over Thanksgiving. The house was plenty of room for us all and the fenced off yard was perfect for our dog who also loved the front porch which has a roll gate. He spent so much time out there just laying and watching the people and cars go by. The house was well equipped for 5 guests, and the kitchen was easy to manuveuver and cook in. Super easy walk to the beach I recommend the Butterfly Garden beach access, but Poinsettia has lovely vegetation around the board walk so we alternates. Wanna Wannas beach bar was a easy beach walk from the house. It's right in walking distance to multiple restaurants and an ice cream place. Personally my favorite thing about the place was the original art. I spent a lot of time in the mornings sipping coffee and looking at the paintings. We would definitely stay here again.

  The properties location was the best which was within walking distannce to the beach. It really does needs some upgrades though. The floor is bulging, the kitchen sink is at an odd position and isn't very accessible and user friendly. The master bathroom had issues flushing just plain liquids. The downstairs area was nice for just relaxing and sitting around talking. The downstaris shower was very convienenant.

  Very roomy for our party of 10. The kitchen had everything that you would need for preparing a meal and for grilling outside. AC is super fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Kitchen has a large stainless steel island for meal prep and to enjoy meals. The washer and dryer were easily accessible and several other appliances were available as well. Two of the rooms go out onto the second floor deck which is very spacious and a nice touch to enjoy the pleasant evenings. We took all of our gear but did notice there are some umbrellas, chairs, and other beach gear in case you need it. Highly recommend this place!

  It was only my wife and me, and our two toy poodles, so we only used the master bedroom and bath. The hot water did take some time to come out the faucets, and the living room floor does have a crown in it, but neither of these things would keep us from staying at this property again. The yard was in great shape. There are hooks in the carport/covered patio for two hammocks and it was very comfortable underneath, even on a hot day. The beach is an easy 5 minute walk. Eateries and shopping across the street. Has an outdoor shower. Property management was courteous and easy to conduct business.

  Having undercover car parking is a bonus. Some homes have only street parking.
  
  There is a very good washer and dryer, which was useful and we did use it.
  
  Two of the three bedrooms had a TV . The master didn’t, but it was not a problem.
  
  Two of the bedrooms had a door that lead out to a beautiful outside entertainment area. You could sit out there and have a view of fireworks.
  
  The house had everything we needed for a great trip. We only had to bring personal items and food.
  
  Another bonus is how close the house is to wonderful restaurants. Our favorite was the Marcello. The food was not your typical seaside town food. It was well above average. The service was great too.
  
  I would recommend this house to a friend.
  The only thing that bothered me was the washing up sponges left for us were horrible. They were old and used.

  All in all we had an awesome experience. Love everything about this cozy home! However, I believe it is time for some furniture and certain amenities being offered definitely need some updating. Two of the dining chairs were broken, we needed to bring chairs in from balcony to have more sitting room. The shower to rinse off was completely broken so we were not able to utilize it. A TV in the master bedroom would also be nice. Why would the master be excluded from having a TV? Other than those minor problems. We love staying there.

  this is our second time at Esperanza escape. we came back for a reason. everything about the setup suits a family with young children. bunkbeds, easy clean surfaces, outdoor shower for beach cleanup, tons of hooks everywhere to hang all your wet suits, towels, and toys. my only suggestions would be to add more kitchen towels and maybe a drying rack for dishes. we were looking unsuccessfully for some trivets as well. outside of that it was perfect! loved finding the gelato shop around the corner as well!

  We rented this duplex on July 7 to July 10, 2019. Overall, the rental experience was good. Great location! However, the washer machine was broken! I wish they could have told us ahead of time. That was one of the reasons we rented this place, the place equipped with both washer and dryer. We ended up bringing our clothes to washerteria stores. We called the office and they said they would replace a new one but it would be on the day we left?! And they didn’t offer us any credit for that!

  We had 8-9 people for 6 nights during this stay. The space was open which made it nice for family visiting and meals after the beach day was over. The space was clean and very close to a non-crowded public beach entrance. Both beds in the guest with a bunk bed were very noisy/creaky. The washing machine was obnoxiously (!) loud and shook the entire house in the spin cycle. The dryer worked but not terribly well. The gate on the porch was much appreciated by our pup who people watched much of the evenings.

  We rented for a week for 7 adults and 2 Yorkíes. About a block away from the beach access. It was clean and inviting. The backyard is wonderful although my Yorkie would escape through gaps...lol. If I had to give any suggestions, it would be to maybe upgrade the pans. The management company that cares for this property is very friendly and helpful. I will definitely rent this place again.

  My family and I had the perfect beach getaway. We stayed at this property and was walking distance to the beach. My favorite part was the relaxing seating on the first floor. The open concept in the house was great. Everyone could do something and yet still feel like your spending quality time!

  Upon arrival I somehow deleted the email with the info to get in the property unfortunately it also had the after hours number so we couldn’t stay our first night. So FYI save the email with the info screen shot it so this doesn’t happen to you too! The next day as soon as the management company opened we retrieved the info and we went in the property it was pretty much clean but the cleaning crew did miss wiping the sofas down they had some pet hair and the carpet in one room had sand however everything else was spotless and I did mention this to the manager as they were extremely nice and professional so I actually would stay here again. The property had everything we needed and more and the rinse outside was a bonus. The manager did inform me she would talk to the cleaning crew so I don’t believe the small issue we had should happen again. And for the record I received my deposit back in a timely manner, I heard some places scan you out of them but I can assure you rent in padre does not and my family and I enjoyed our vacation staying this property. It is a block from the beach we drove because we had a tent and chairs that we didn’t want to walk down there with. But we would go for morning strolls on the beach without taking a vehicle and it wasn’t a far drive a big bonus is there’s black beards restaurant across the street and dollar general is within walking distance too for last minute items so it’s a convienant location!

  Esparenza Escape was in a perfect location, only a block from the beach! It was less than a block away from Main Street with all the shops, cafes, and bars! It was only a 5 minute drive to the clubs on the North and South ends of the island! It had a back porch and a large patio with tables and chairs underneath the Home! It was a fantastic place to stay!

  The house is amazing and spacious! The kitchen is big enough to feel at home and cook easily. The dishes were clean and ready to use. There was lots of room for our belongings even though we had 11 people there (more than half were kids). There’s a double shower under the house as well as beach toys, grill, and tables and chairs. Lots of space to play! The back balcony on the house was great for drying wet swimsuits and towels since it got sunshine. The front balcony is great for little kids to play on because there’s a clever sliding gate to close the stairs off. Using a code to unlock the front door was nice because we didn’t have to keep track of a house key. The bedroom with the bunk bed is really well laid out, can easily sleep 5 kids and has a huge closet.
  Room for improvement:
  •Our greatest complaint is that the dryer was broken and seemed to have been for a while since the last couple reviews mentioned it. The property manager said a new one would be installed on the day we were checking out and that we’d be credited $50 for the inconvenience. Staying for a week with a bunch of kids made doing laundry a necessity so it was very inconvenient to not have a working dryer. Anyone can go buy a dryer and install it in a day so there doesn't seem to be a valid reason why it would take several weeks to install a new one.
  •There’s not much lighting under the house and especially on the stairs at night. The step and stairs were hazardous at night because of this, we all tripped over them at some point.
  •Some of the higher surfaces in the house such as the shelves in the kitchen were covered in thick dust. All the rest of the house seemed clean.
  •There’s a few too many nick knacks and decorative pillows.
  •There’s no bathtub so difficult to wash small children who are afraid of showers!
  •It would have been better if Netflix and/or a DVD player was provided.
  All in all, we are planning on booking this house again! It's perfect for us!

  We enjoyed our stay here. It really did feel like being at home.
  
  I don't know if it was from not having anyone staying in it for a while before we got there but the floors were a little dusty as my grand baby got dirty crawling on the floor. We would have been appreciative had the property management company put a sign, note, or something, stating that the clothes dryer didn't work. We washed some clothes and put them in the dryer but they didn't dry because the heating element wouldn't heat up. They told us, after calling them, that a new washer and dryer had been ordered but hadn't come in yet. The ONLY draw back is that the only way in the house is up a flight of stairs that are not covered. It rained the whole time we were there, not their fault, so it made it difficult not to get wet every time we went anywhere.
  It is not the best place to stay if you have an elderly person with you that has a difficult time climbing stairs.
  The door on the bedroom by the kitchen had a water leak where rain seeped in under the door.
  The fenced in back yard was great for letting our husky run around a bit. If you know anything about huskies, you know that you can't leave them alone or they will escape so we stayed in the yard with him the whole time he was out there. Underneath the house is an area where you can bbq and had the weather been better we definitely would have done that. They have provided everything you need to live there for the week.
  
  Other than these very minor things, we loved it and would stay there any time over a hotel/motel. We plan on trying to rent it again the next time we go to SPI.

  This house perfectly accommodated our family of 10. We especially enjoyed the downstairs and BBQ every night that we were there. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was that a lot of the dishes in the cupboards were dirty and had to be rewashed. When we got their, we were greeted by a dishwasher full of dirty dishes.

  We had an amazing time. This house was exactly what we needed! There was plenty of space for the whole family, lots of seating and all of the conveniences of home. When we arrived, it was very clean. We had lots of clean towels provided for us and the check-in and check-out processes were very easy. The beds were quite comfortable, and although it would have been nice if one of the bathrooms had a bathtub, the showers worked well.
  
  It was a very short walk to the beach - and there was also nearby beach access with parking spaces available, so we could drive over and unload all of our beach supplies without having to carry them from the house.
  
  I also highly recommend the restaurant (Blackbeard's) that is literally right across the street from this house. The food was delicious!
  
  The only major complaint was that we were swarmed inside every evening by very large flying ants. I don't know where they came from or how they got inside, but we spent 15 minutes each night trying to kill them all before we went to bed.

  We had a great time at this wonderful beach house. We had 5 adults and 3 kids and had absolutely no space problems. Big deck on the front, big deck on the back, tons of room underneath the home. I'm a Realtor and this home is awesome! I will say a small minor thing that you may want to prepare for. I think the cleaning crew turned down the fridge to 2 which wasn't cool enough to keep your perishables from perishing. The owner states that it will take 24 hours for the fridge to cool down to it's new setting. They were right of course, we put it right on the middle setting and in 24 hours, we could use it. So, the moral of the story is, come prepared with ice chests for the first day or a portable fridge. Overall, would absolutely stay again. On a side note, when we called about the fridge, the office was very prompt to respond and very kind and apologetic. It really wasn't a big deal, just need to come prepared.

  This was our first Blended Family vacation and it was amazing! The house was a great help for that! The first night we got there, my husband and I grilled. Before we started grilling I was cooking and it was great to have the open floor plan to allow me to be present as well with the family! My only complaint was that the people that sprayed for mosquitoes came the following day, by then, I had already gotten bit 5 times while trying to grill.

  Four of us and 2 dogs booked this condo for 2 nights for a birthday fishing trip. Can't say enough about how awesome it was! I am MEGA picky! Great place if you own dogs.
